Incoming Students

Welcome to the EHD!

Every year, students from different countries come to the EHD to gain experience abroad. Wether it is for an internship in a German institution, visits to numerous EHD seminars or even a research stay - all is possible.

Do you want to spend an exchange-semester  at EHD?

If you are interested in coming to Darmstadt with the ERASMUS program, you should officially be nominated to EHD. Please contact the International Office of your home university – the team will  take care of the necessary steps.

Afterwards, please fill out the application form, have it signed by your International Coordinator and send it to the EHD (perferably in digital form). We will then contact you.

Please note: International students, who are interested in completing an entire degree programme at EHD, have to meet the same requirements as German students. Further nformation can be found on the websites of the individual EHD degree programmes (in German). Degree programmes at EHD are offered in German only. Therefore international students, in addition to the general admission requirements, have to submit  proof of their German language skills as follows: DSH, Level 2 or TestDAF, Level 4

Are you interested in an internship?

Please submit - in addition to the application form - a current CV and a short letter of motivation.

The latter should contain a description of the field in which you would like to complete the internship. We will put you in contact with suitable institutions. The working language will generally be German.

The majority of seminars at the EHD are also held in German. Therefor, it is absolutley vital that you are confidently handling this language. We recommend that you attend an intensive course at the beginning of your stay in Darmstadt. The EHD will be happy to organize such a course for you.

The EHD offers student-accomondation – basic rooms with bunk beds - directly on campus. Two students always share a bathroom and everyone have access to is a fully equipped communal kitchen. If you are interested in a room for the duration of you stay, please get in touch with our International Affairs Officer.
